This is really awesome example of the corollary to any discovery: "Holy Cow, Nature's been doing that this whole time"?
Quantum Mechanics and the optimization of photosynthesis in plants.
Also, the picture at the top of the post is of a Norfolk Island Pine. They're pretty, they can be made into lovely bonsai plants, and apparently they know more about quantum mechanics than you or I do.
